The cape in the photographs took four weeks to make; our capes are not mass-produced.

Using the Back Strap Loom, a technique utilized for hundreds of years by Mayan artisans, each textile is carefully crafted. This cape is resistant to shrinkage and fading, and it is machine washable. Hand stitching is used to decorate this unique piece.

By purchasing this handmade women’s cape, you are directly supporting Guatemalan women artisans. This item is made by  Mayan women from the lake shore town of San Juan La Laguna, who have preserved the creation of handmade fabrics as strong, independent women.

Our weavers use natural dyes and organic cotton to create these beautiful capes.
